If you know of a little Pekingese in need please contact us immediately so we may help. If you see one of our Pekes and are interested in adopting, please fill out our Online Adoption Application. Personal references, a vet reference and a home visit are required prior to adopting from Pekingese Rescue Network, Inc. We do not adopt to families with children under age 12. An adoption donation is required to offset vet expenses. We do not operate a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are fostered in private homes. We only adopt to those who live in NJ, CT and NY, including NYC. We look forward to hearing from you!

We are in desperate NEED of short-term FOSTER HOMES in the northern New Jersey, New York and CT area in order to save more dogs. Please fill out our Online Volunteer Application if you would like to help.

~~~ Jack graduates from Obedience Class! ~~~
Adopted rescue Pekingese Jack (formerly Buffy) Dixon graduated from Beginner Dog Training On July 7, 2008. He attended class at Petsmart, Columbia MD with trainer Jackie Stone. He is continuing his education at their Intermediate level at this time. He has done well with sit, stay, wait, and come. NO! is a great immediate corrector word for him. He is learning Drop It, Leave it, Heel, and Stay with Distraction. He still has his quirks with visitors to the house, but this is becoming more manageable. He adores his mom and wherever Marilyn is, you can be sure if there is a way, Jack is beside her.
Edith
~~~ Please Give Edith a Loving and Permanent Home ~~~

Edith is a charmer. Edith had to have emergency surgery for stones when first brought into our rescue. Her pain was unimaginable. She could not walk but a few inches without being forced to urinate. Surgery was a success. Her stones were evaluated. They were caused by infections left to fester by her uncaring owner. Now Edith is safe and well with PRNI.

Edith was one of 29 Pekingese pulled from filthy and neglectful conditions by the NY SPCA. The SPCA called PRNI asking for help. Of course our answer was a loud yes. All the dogs showed major physical and emotional issues from their surrounding. Non have aggression issues. Indeed a miracle after such abuse.

Not allowed outside and forced to live inside in their own filth without food and water took its toll. We vetted, groomed, and rehabbed the little ones. Little Pekingese who had not been allowed to run and play, now do so daily with much joy in their NJ foster homes. Edith's legs and muscle mass have become stronger everyday. She loves to play or just sit in your lap giving kisses. The other little Pekingese also show daily improvement as they are rehabilitated.

Edith and her buddies cost PRNI over $2000.00 in vetting. Please help us with our expenses by donating to PRNI, PO Box 468, Hillsdale NJ 07642. All donations are tax deductible. Make checks payable to PRNI. Donations of $25 or more would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for you much needed help.

Most important, please look at our posting pictures here of these courageous little survivors. Open your heart and home to one or two of these little Pekingese. A completed application, checkable references including a veterinarian, a home visit, and adoption donation are required.

~~~ Show Your Support by Buying Our Peke-Decorated Gifts! ~~~
Many Pekes don't get adopted in dog pounds because they have been neglected, with infected or missing eyes, injured backs, rotten teeth, horribly matted fur, or bad Attitudes due to fear. We rescue Pekes that would otherwise be killed. We clean them up, take them to the vet, and provide short or long-term foster homes for them in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. These Pekes need hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars worth of vet care. The adoption donation does not usually cover our vet and grooming expenses. We sell the items below to help raise money for that. They are not cheap, but they are EXCELLENT quality! Please click on these links to see all of our gifts decorated with PRNI-rescued Pekes. Gorgeous PRNI Hoodie Sweat-Shirts and long-sleeved T-shirts now available, many sizes, and matching small Magnets. We have 2 new Coffee Mugs, each with photos of 3 gorgeous Pekes rescued this year, and a Christmas Ornament too! Just completed Oct. 5th - our all-new 2008 12-page Calendar. Our cover girl is Billie Jean, a young white Pekingese with paralyzed hind legs, who just got the 2-wheel cart for which she has been waiting. She is now happily self-propelling and has been adopted!
We also have lovely Sympathy/Memorial Cards featuring donated color drawing "Pekingese in Heaven" by artist Nancy Ross.
